01

The short version

TapeDesk is a recording app that runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no user accounts. We never see your recordings, and neither does anyone else.

02

What we collect

Nothing. The App Store privacy label for TapeDesk is "Data Not Collected", and that is literally true.

03

Your recordings & projects

Everything you record and every project you create is stored locally on your device (and in your own iCloud/device backups if you have those enabled; that is between you and Apple, not us). Your audio never leaves your device through TapeDesk.

04

Microphone

TapeDesk asks for microphone access for one reason: to record audio onto its tracks. Audio is written to files on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere.

05

Network access

TapeDesk does not connect to any servers we operate. The only network activity is Ableton Link, which uses your local network to sync tempo with other music apps and devices around you. That stays on your local network. It is never sent to us or to the internet.

06

Children

Because TapeDesk collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.

07

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Since the app collects no data, we do not expect meaningful changes.
